Once he established himself he joined the Golden Harvest Entertainment through which he got opportunities like The Young Master and Police Story which were major successes in Hollywood.
Then Police Story was made into a series of movies with the same name and he starred in many of them. He was mainly preferred for his inimitable stunts and the timely sense of humor. Then came the blockbusters like Project A and Dragon’s Forever which took him to the highest levels.
Jackie Chan soon achieved the status of being the highest paid actor in Asia. Jackie Chan actually began working in Hollywood under his original name Chang Kong Sang but people who worked with him found it difficult to pronounce so they named him Jackie. Today he is known as Jackie Chan across the world.
Jackie started his career in Hollywood in the 80s where he began with movies like Battle Creek Brawl with the producer who also directed Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon. However, the film did not do very well leaving Jackie disheartened. Also, he was not given full control over the stunts in the movie. Then, the movies he starred after this like Cannonball Run, which had a huge star cast, he was given a very small role to play. Though Jackie was not very happy about it he exercised patience and stuck around.
Hollywood success came to Jackie Chan in 1995 with the release of Rumble in the Bronx. This established him as a credible Hollywood actor and led to him doing more films like Rush Hour with Chris Tucker and Police Story 3, which was released in the US as Supercop.
