The average life expectancy today is around 74.5. Believe it or not, Jeanne Calment made it to her 122 years old’s golden birthday. She was known to be the oldest confirmed person in the history of mankind. In 1988 and 1995, she entered the Guinness Book of Records.
Biography:
Calment was born and lived in the small town of Arles in France. Fortunately, she was born in a wealthy family, and she never had to work to make a living. Her father was a shipbuilder and a bourgeois. Her mother came from a family of millers.
Because of Calment ’s family wealth, shw was able to live a relaxed and comfortable lifestyle. Her favorite hobbies are cycling, rollerskating, swimming, tenis, and piano.
Calment outlived her husband, daughter, and grandson. In 1942, her husband passed away from eating spoiled dessert. Her daughter died from pneumonia at the age of 36 in 1934, and her grandon died from a motorcycle accident in 1963.
Calment became famous and recognized at the age of 115. At the time, the centerary of Vincent van Gogh was brought to her town, and she was the only person who actually ever met him. According to her, she had met the artist 100 years ago in her uncle ‘s fabric shop

Calment attributed her loveity to “Port wine, a diet rich in olive oil, and her sense of humor.” Believe it or not, she still rode bicycle at age 100. She did not give up smoking unitl she became 117 years old.
Many scientists belive that the secret to her longvity lies within her DNA and genetic trait. Calment ‘s close family members also lived to a very old age. For instance, her father lived to be 93, and her brother lived to be 97 years old.
