George Bush Biography
George Bush was the 43rd President of the United States and he served two terms as President. He was the oldest of six siblings born to George Bush Sr. and Barbara Bush. He comes from a rich political heritage of America where his grandfather Prescott Bush served as a Senator in Connecticut. |
However, he spent most of his childhood years in Houston, Texas. He went to the Phillips Academy of Andover in Massachusetts for his education which was a boarding school. He later went to Yale University in Connecticut and was also the President of his fraternity. However, through out his school years he was considered to be an average student.
Just before Bush graduated from University, the Vietnam War broke out during which time he trained with the Texas Air National Guard. In July 1968, he was commissioned as the second lieutenant and was certified as a fighter pilot. Then Bush went off to Alabama to pursue his interest in politics. It was from Alabama he began his political career. Also, before he vested his interest in politics completely, he applied in Harvard Business School and got accepted for the course starting in fall. Due to this he had to miss nearly eight months of his duty, which led to his suspension.
He also failed to renew his medial records and after that he never went back to the armed forces. This became a point of discussion in the 2000 and 2004 elections and made people point fingers at him.
