How Is John McCain Being Marketed To The Public For Election?

First of all, he chose Sarah Plain as his running mate in elections, which was not a good decision. Secondly, John McCain did not have a good value proposition. All the qualities that were proposed for him in the public eye were that of a war hero, patriot, conservative and bipartisan.
The Americans did not need any of this because for one they were really tired of war and they wanted more stability in their lives. Homeland security did not play a very big role either. The recession has taken a big toll on them and all they wanted was their jobs back for a stable financial future. Also, McCain directly attacked Obama on many of his speeches and constantly compared their policies.
John McCain clearly needed to change his marketing strategy and also put a lid on his temper. Most people think that he was a terrible war monger who only spoke about going after Iraq and further Bush’s passion. He seemed reluctant to speak about the current recession and financial strife. He also commented that the Americans should stop vacationing and take up a second job to survive recession. This was not taken very well by the Americans and John McCain always gained the wrong publicity in the people’s eye.
His statements were abrupt and insensitive when it came to making amendments to the economy. Also while campaigning he made decisions overnight about calling of the campaign or bringing in a new member. This did not seem like good presidential qualities.
