Father: Barack Hussein Obama Sr. was born in a Kenyan village called Nyangoma Kogelo which is located on the banks of Lake Victoria. He studied in a missionary school and worked as a goat herder the rest of the time. When he was 20 years old he found a job in Nairobi and moved to the city and met a girl called Kezia whom he ended up marrying. When he was 23, he was awarded a scholarship to study economics in the University of Hawaii from an American Program. There he meets a fellow student called Ann Dunham in a Russian language class. Barack Obama Sr. marries Ann at 25 and at that time she was already pregnant with Obama Jr. After Obama is born, he gets a scholarship to attend Harvard and he moves to Boston leaving his wife and son behind. Later, he decides to move to Kenya to work for his country and Ann refuses to accompany him. Barack Obama Sr. dies in a road accident in Kenya while Obama was in Harvard.
Mother: Ann Dunham was born in Fort Leavenworth in Kansas. Her family moved to Washington when she was 14 so that she can have better prospects of schooling. When Ann was 18, her family moved to Hawaii where she enroled in the University of Hawaii. There she met Barack Obama Sr. and married him when she was 18. After three years, she divorces Obama Sr. and married an Indonesian Lolo Soetoro and moves to Indonesia with young Obama Jr. In 1971, Ann returned to Hawaii to live with her son along with a baby girl from Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian. She died due to ovarian cancer in 1995.
