Where Was Barack Obama Born ?
The United States President Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 4, 1961. This question is being raised a lot of late because many people are questioning the fact if Barack Obama is eligible to be a president on the grounds of his nationality. |
Also, several people doubt if he is an American. In that case, even John McCain was born in the Panama Canal and that did not deny him any rights to the American citizenship.
The United States law clearly states that “if only one parent is a citizen of the United States at the time of the child’s birth and she or he must have resided in the country for five years and out of which the five years should be after the age of 16.” However, this is just one of the clauses. Barack Obama’s mother was 18 when he was born and she was an American citizen by birth.
The minimum qualifications required to be the president of the United States is that he must be the natural born citizen of the United States, should have been a resident of the United States for at least 14 years and also should be 35 years of age or more. Barack Obama fits into all these criteria perfectly and no questions can ever be raised about his nationality. Also, as per the American Constitution, the nationality clauses are very unclear for people who are born in the United States.
Also, Barack Obama has always held a US passport and traveled, he studied in the United States just like any other American child and he did not have to go through any other requirements.
