He was also the first third generation superstar in professional wrestling history. He was one of the most popular wrestlers in his league, and people remember him as The Rock. However, he was more popular in the movies, and today, he is one of the top paid Hollywood actors. He started acting only in 2001, and reduced his time on the ring.
He won the WWE and the WWF championships almost seven times. He won several other championships like Intercontinental Championship and Triple Crown in the Royal Rumble.
Johnson got into movies through the Scorpion King in the leading role, and was paid the highest salary for a new comer. He then worked in several other movies like the Grid Iron Gang, Rundown, Be Cool, Walking Tall, The Game Plan, Get Smart, Race to Witch Mountain and Planet 51.
Dwayne Johnson was born in Hayward California. He was of Samoan origin and also Polynesian. He studied in Honolulu and also lived for a brief while in New Zealand with his mother and her Polynesian family. He graduated from Freedom High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Even as a school student, he was on the wrestling teams. He was very interested in athletics and sports.
