Biography Of Laura Ingraham

Laura Anne Ingraham (born June 19, 1964) was raised in a middle class family and graduated in 1981 from Glastonbury High School, Glastonbury, Connecticut. She took her bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth and went on to earn a law degree in 1991 from the University Of Virginia School Of Law.

During the 80s, she worked with the Domestic Policy Advisor of the Regan administration as a speech writer. After obtaining her law degree, she worked for some time as a law clerk for a judge in the US Court of Appeals in New York and later for a judge in the US Supreme Court. Then she switched as a private defense attorney for a New York law company.

As a representative, rising young conservative Ingraham appeared on the cover page of the New York Times magazine in 1995 dressed in a leopard skin miniskirt. The apparel met with serious criticism, which she tried to brush aside with a joke.

After two unsuccessful stints as a cable television host, she became a CBS commentator. In 2008, Fox News Channel gave her a three week trial on a new show which ended disastrously when an off-camera dispute with producers was caught on tape.

In 2001, she launched the Laura Ingraham Show, a successful radio talk show and in 2008, she was rated as the sixth best radio show host in the US. Between 2003 and 2007, she authored three books on social issues.

Ingraham has never been married but has been engaged twice, with both engagements breaking amicably. She underwent breast cancer surgery in 2005. A convert to Roman Catholicism, she is in the process of adopting a young girl from Guatemala.
