Mark Twain was an American journalist and writer noted for his humorous writings during his time. His exemplary writing had unmatched wit and was a reflection of his high intellect. The youthful characters in his novels won him a lot of fans worldwide, the most famous of which include ‘Adventures of Huckleberry Finn’ and ‘Adventures Of Tom Sawyer’.

Born in Missouri in 1835 to John Marshall Clemens, a merchant, and Jane Lampton Clemens on November 30, Mark Twain had a difficult and tragic childhood. Though he was sixth child of a total of seven siblings n the family, only three of his siblings survived into adulthood. The rest of them expired at very young age.

At the age of 4, Mark moved to Hannibal when his family shifted to this town situated on the river of Mississippi. It is said that this port town became the inspirational backdrop for his famous works “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” and the other humorous contribution “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn”.
